Heritage Harvest Festival, September 11, 2010:
This annual festival takes place at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's historic estate near Charlottesville, Virginia. The day offers something for everyone, tours of the estate gardens, seed swapping, and classes and workshops on everything from medicinal herbs and food preservation to raising your own mushrooms or keeping chickens. There will also be information booths for some of our favorite local groups, such as Edible Landscaping, Plant Savers, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.
